Let's play the Feud!

I took my staff to a Christmas party the other day. The event was hosted by the hotel at which we conduct our various meetings. It's something they offer each year to small businesses who aren't quite big enough to throw their own party.

There's three of us, and the entire party probably had about 50 people from five different businesses. We enjoyed a nice holiday meal, then the hotel staff split the party guests into two teams and led us through a friendly game of Family Feud.

Here's some of my favorite answers of the day:

Survey Question: Name one of Santa's nine reindeer.

Most Laughable Answer of the Day: Dixon.

Commentary: Seriously? Dixon? And the sad thing is the only name that had been revealed to that point was Rudolph. So this person had 8 of the 9 names left to choose from and could only come up with Dixon. Guess that's better than guessing Vomit.


Survey Question: Name a word that starts with snow.

Worst Answer of the Day: Snow Woman.

Commentary: Are you for real? This came immediately after somebody correctly guessed Snowman, so obviously this person wasn't too creative. But did you really think Snow Woman was a better guess than Snowflake or Snow Angel or even Snow White and Seven Dwarfs?


Survey Question: Name a popular holiday greeting.

Are You Kidding Me Answer of the Day: Noel.

Commentary: This was the initial answer provided, what the guy said after hitting the buzzer to earn the first guess. Noel? Dude, you rang the buzzer for that? How about... and I know this might be a stretch... but how about Merry Christmas? Or Season's Greetings? Or even Happy Holidays? Wow. Like I said, are you kidding me?


Survey Question: Name a person associated with Christmas.

Way to Reveal Your Age Answer of the Day: Bing Crosby.

Commentary: Lady, only the top four responses are on the board. How hard can this be? It was Santa Claus, Jesus, Frosty the Snowman, and Mary. You've gotta be well over 60 years old if you think Bing Crosby is going to edge anyone on that list.


Survey Question: Name a food that is served at a holiday meal.

Most Clueless Answer of the Day: Fruit Cake.

Commentary: Again, this was the initial answer provided. At some point when you reach to ring the buzzer, doesn't it don on you that we just ate a holiday meal? So I'm thinking surely this person has quickly recalled the turkey and stuffing we just downed, or perhaps it was the sweet potatoes or the cranberries or the five different varieties of pie. Nope. This guy is going to guess Fruit Cake, even though we just had a holiday meal with not a single fruit cake anywhere to be seen.
